The 6th annual PowerUP salon owner planning and networking event took place in Auckland on November 4th at Sorrento in the Park. Run by Salon Business Coach Malcolm Gibbons, this event was attended by over 40 salon owners and managers from all over New Zealand along with various industry suppliers.
Attendees had plenty to take in with an array of excellent topics and presenters along with the popular mini expo which ran throughout the day. Exhibitors included Coffee Trendz, Nak Hair, Images Magazine, House of Camille, Hairware/Beautyware software, NZARH (New Zealand Association of Registered Hairdressers) and Observskin diagnostic device
Feedback from salon owners included: “Awesome – Great Job”, “Inspirational”, “Informative & Productive”, “Motivational & Inspiring” It is clear that this event just goes from strength to strength each year!
“PowerUP is all about looking forward towards the end of next year and establishing where you want to be;
identifying where you are now; then planning how you’re going to get there.” Explains Malcolm.
With an array of speakers such as Elisia Webb and Eric Ng showing the ‘how to’ of Social Media and Video Marketing and the team from Heaney and Partners law firm giving expert legal advice regarding contracts and
social media, along with video presentations on finding your ‘why’ and ‘fitting it all in’, there was certainly heaps of content to absorb and plenty of relevant discussion points throughout the day.
Capping off a very full and busy day with Malcolm, working on the actual planning session, it was then on to drinks and nibbles with more fun networking among salon owners.
After six consecutive years, PowerUP is firmly cemented into the Hair & Beauty scene in New Zealand, and is certainly the best event for salon owners interested in learning more about how to grow their businesses.
PowerUP is definitely an event to schedule into your calendar for next year. Enjoy a day out of the salon for learning, networking, fun and planning, which will help you achieve more for your business.
